Little in the middle but...

My derrière gets a lot of attention. I don't shake it; it shakes itself.  And when I'm walking down the street, people think it's somehow okay to comment.

Past gems include "Dddddaaaaamn! That's a black girl AND a white girl!" and "Girl is that ALL yours?! Is that real?! Cause... hoooo! Mm, mm, mmm."  Other people get much more specific and graphic with their imaginings, and it actually gets pretty annoying.

This week, walking to yoga, I passed a homeless man gracing the doorway of a shop in Inman Square.  "You have beautiful eyes," he said as I passed.  I smiled and kept walking.  Nope. Not good enough.  He hollered, "I said, I like your beautiful eyes!! And your big assssssssssssss!"

Thaaaat's great. Thanks.

Meredith...I get it all the time, too. I'm so tempted to one day turn around and be all "DOES THAT EVER WORK??" to one of the guys...because pretending to ignore it seems to always provoke them.
